Our day spent in Spring Mill was thrilling! We first enjoyed a nice 'pitch-in' picnic in the park, by the river. After lunch, we went off to explore the pioneer village, which was just a few feet away. Spring Mill State Park is known for it's pioneer village and we found out why! The village was an actual settlement in the early 1800s. In this village you can tour the many authentic log homes and the grist mill, where you can learn how they made corn meal.

After spending some educational time in the pioneer village, we decided to drive a little further down the road and head towards French Lick, Indiana. In French Lick, we witnessed more of the small town atmosphere of days gone by. French Lick has preserved many of it's original buildings and the town square. With endless views of tree-topped hills and the beautiful French Lick Springs Hotel, this little town is truly amazing. We toured the renowned resort hotel and tried to take it all in, from the awe-inspiring foyer to the lush gardens of colorful flowers. But, our diamond in the rough ... Pluto Water! For over 200 years, the Pluto Mineral Spring has drawn visitors to French Lick. because of it's touted healing powers.

There was so much to do and see that we couldn’t do it all, but we would like to try. Maybe next year! The Keenagers had a great day filled with fun, wonderful sights and blessed fellowship.
