Church
Retention Commission
The
Church Retention Commission examines growth and retention
in the church. It seeks to identify the reasons families
may decide to leave the church body and determines
solutions to increase retention. Selected ministries
are examined and results are used to counteract any
negative trends. Commission members envision their
tasks as being fivefold:
- Determine why
people leave our fellowship and track the specifics;
- Determine the
reasons families leave the fellowship;
- Develop ways
to strengthen our families and encourage them
to stay;
- Develop better
ways to track and follow up with our guests;
- Determine why
people involved in various ministries choose to
withdraw and recommend ways to close the door.

Prayer
Commission
Without
prayer, the church will dry up in spirit and the people
will refuse to give themselves, their time or their
finances to further the gospel. Prayer gives people
inspiration to go beyond themselves. The goals of
the Prayer Commission are to bring this from a committee
to a grassroots movement. We want to become a spiritual
force affecting the momentum of every endeavor used
in reaching the North Indianapolis Metro area. Therefore,
the Prayer Commission shall:
- Enlist the ministry
of Family Praise Center to focus on prayer;
- Pray for divine
guidance for the leadership and function of each
respective commission, involving evangelism;
- Provide a strong
prayer covering to achieve maximum harvest, growth
and expansion of the Kingdom.

One
Vision Commission
According
to Proverbs 29:18, "Where there is no vision,
the people perish ..." This commission promotes
one vision to Family Praise Center, so that the membership
maintains a clear sense of focus on the purpose and
function of our church.
One
Vision extends to four defining aspects of our church:
Doctrine, Purpose,
Holiness, and Unity of the
Body. The church should be one in doctrine,
one in purpose, one in holiness and one in unity because
our strength in these areas directly impacts the effectiveness
of our church in the community.
The
mission of this commission is to promote One Vision
through the church leadership to the body of Christ,
using effective and creative methods. The success
of this mission can be quantified by growth of the
membership and a constant spirit of excitement within
FPC.

Unity
of Faith Commission
Within
any organization, differences of opinion will arise.
Such differences are not necessarily negative, but
allow time for reflection and dialogue for the strengthening
of the whole body. This commission works in close
harmony with the pastor in resolving questions of
discrepancies in belief within the body of Christ.
This commission then brings its findings back to the
pastor for final disposition. This is all done within
the fundamental doctrine which states, "We
shall endeavor to keep the unity of the faith, at
the same time admonishing all brethren that they shall
not contend for their different views to the disunity
of the body."

Policy
and Ministry Descriptions Commission
With
our growing organization, we welcome new and challenging
responsibilities. It is our goal to provide guidance,
where possible, to allow the body to comfortably function
with great effectiveness; to be fitly framed together
to produce the greatest results with the least number
of complications. It is our goal to write policy that
will better clarify our mission and to publicize our
ongoing vision. It is our desire to assist our leaders
with direction for service within the work of the
Kingdom of God. The task at hand is monumental and
direction is most important. By establishing policies
and ministry descriptions, we will raise our efficiency
and effectiveness within each area of service. "Let
all things be done decently and in order." I
Corinthians 14:40.

Stewardship
Commission
To
be good stewards is indeed a biblical necessity. We
must promote the following areas of our lives to follow
the example of stewardship:
- PERSONAL
- FAMILY
- BUSINESS
- CHURCH
We
are to occupy until He comes. We are to be about the
Father's business. The church must become the example
operation of good stewardship. We must COMMISSION
our congregation to become active in the investment
of our future. We must promote living within our means.
We must promote bringing our tithe from the first
fruit to the storehouse. We must continue to develop
an understanding that attaches responsibility to all
of our increases. We must ask the question "How
can a man rob God, but by tithes and offerings?"
Romans 14:12 says, "So then everyone
of us shall give an account of himself to God."
